Arch Pain
The arch is made up of various bones, tendons and ligaments. Its main function is to provide shock absorption while standing, walking, and running.
Arch pain occurs when the ligaments and tendons that support the bones in the arch become weakened or strained. This can happen to people for a variety of reasons:
- Having conditions like plantar fasciitis (painful inflammation of the plantar fascia tissue on the bottom of the foot), flat feet, or tarsal tunnel syndrome (pinched nerve in the ankle)
- Wearing improper footwear
- Being overweight
- Having a job that requires standing or walking for most of the day
- Overusing the arch during sporting activities
- Injuries
- Gait or alignment anomalies
It is important to have your arch pain diagnosed as soon as possible, so we can determine the root of your issue and treat it accordingly.
